Yoga World Natural Cork Blocks

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO ADD SOME DIVERSITY TO YOUR PRACTICES?

At some point, advanced yogis will start thinking about creative ways to make the already difficult Eight Angles and Split-Legged Handstands even more challenging. And beginners? Well, their concern at the moment might revolve around how to make their hands touch the floor while doing a Standing Forward Bend without separating their spine from their tailbone. In any case, there's a nifty device that can help address both issues and many others.

These Yoga Blocks by Yoga World can help you achieve your asana goals, no matter your skill level!

Cork Yoga Blocks

These yoga blocks are made using premium quality cork sourced from Portugal. They are harvested from tree barks, which eventually grow back after some time. They do not contain any harmful substances that can harm you or the environment as they are made from cork. By using cork yoga blocks like these, you are helping to make this world a healthier and better place to live in.

EXTEND YOUR REACH

If you're not yet bendy enough to bring all your palms flat onto the floor, then you're going to find our yoga blocks immensely helpful. This is one of the most common uses of a yoga block: to decrease the distance between your hands and the floor so you can perform the asana safely and reduce strain on certain parts of your body. So go ahead and pop that Extended Side Angle Pose you've been meaning to try for a while.

MAINTAIN YOUR POSE FOR LONGER

In order to truly reap the rewards of performing a certain asana, you need to be able to hold the pose for a considerable amount of time. But those who are just starting to learn a new pose, regardless of their skill levels, know that this is much easier said than done. If you're in the same dilemma, you'll find our yoga blocks truly useful. Prop it under your sacrum while doing a bridge pose and you'll know exactly what we mean.

MORE REASONS TO LOVE OUR BLOCKS:

IMPROVE YOUR ALIGNMENT

Proper alignment is one of the foundations of good yoga poses, but it's also one of the most difficult to get, especially for beginners. Somehow, their knees just won't align with their ankles while doing a High Lunge. Props like these yoga blocks can help. In fact, it's recommended that novices start with using blocks since it's one way of helping them form the right habits from the start.

FROM NOVICES TO MASTERS

These yoga blocks have something to offer every yoga enthusiast. Beginners can use them to facilitate a variety of yoga poses like the Bridge Pose much easier. Intermediates can use them for support while doing Half-Moon Poses. And for the seasoned yogi? There's nothing like the joy and satisfaction of a flawlessly executed Bound Side Crow or Sage Koundinya. Use these blocks to experiment, improve and more importantly, have fun!

A GIFT FOR YOGIS OF ALL LEVELS

Yogis, regardless of their skill levels, will surely appreciate receiving yoga blocks for their birthday or holiday present. But hey, who says you have to wait for an occasion before you hand them a pair of these awesome yoga props? Why not go ahead and gift them a set, just to show that they're remembered and appreciated. And while you're at it, be sure to get a pair for yourself as well.

The Story Of Cork

Oak Cork Tree Stripped Back

  • Cork Trees have a life cycle of around 200-300 hundred years.
  • Once the tree matures the trees bark is stripped.
  • Stripping the bark enhances the trees ability to absorb Carbon dioxide.
  • 100 million tons of CO2 is offset yearly from cork trees in Portugal.

Sun-Cure

  • The bark is taken off every 9 years and left to sun-cure for up to 6 months.
  • Air, sun, wind and rain causes a chemical reaction that improves the quality of the cork.
  • The cork tree is the only tree to be able to survive this process of harvesting.
  • This means that all of our cork products come from 100% natural plant tissue.

Steam Soften Disinfect and Air Dry

  1. Curing causes them to lose 20% moisture and flattens them out.
  2. Steamed in boilers to disinfect it.
  3. Then it is left to air dry.
  4. Once dry it is cut into slices and ready to use.
  5. Virtually no waste in cork as it is all reused to make other items from left over bits.
